Whale Rock Lodge is a very comfortable, 4 star graded lodge with spacious en suite bedrooms. Eleven suites, each individually decorated and pamperingly appointed, a help-yourself bar in the fire-lit sitting room and a buffet breakfast in the sun room overlooking the pool, ensure a tranquil holiday. A full buffet breakfast is served overlooking the pool and colourful lush garden with its relaxing water feature. For dining out there is a wide choice of restaurants. Hermanus offers a well maintained golf course and an indigenous nature reserve for lovers of the outdoors.

We are only a stones throw away from the Indian Ocean and boast stunning sea views. We are positioned less than 100 metres from all amenities required including restaurants, a post office, banks with ATM's and a supermarket. The safe, golden beach of Port Edward is only a three minute stroll along a stunning coastal footpath, passing many superb fishing spots including Splash Rock. You can experience the splendour of the many top golf courses, including Southbroom and San Lameer as they are only 15 minute drive away. The Wild Coast Sun International, within its world class course and casino is only five minute drive from the guest house. We have eight gorgeous rooms, six double rooms and two master suites with king size bed, dressing room and large bathroom. Six rooms overlook the Indian Ocean and they all have full en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are equipped with TV's (M-Net), hairdryers, a selection of toiletries, hospitality trays and all linen and towels are provided. You will also find a guide to the surrounding area, helping you to enjoy the South Coast to its best. We also have the added benefit of a sparkling pool, braai (barbecue) area and fully licensed bar with a pool table and dartboard to make your stay an even more enjoyable one. Smoking is permitted in these areas but not in the rooms. On the first floor you will find a huge lounge where you can relax and enjoy the amazing view right up the coast. A delicious breakfast is included in the rate which consists of cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit, juice, filter coffee as well as the full English with toast and preserves. Children are welcome, our family room has a king size bed and bunk beds and the pool is fenced off for safety purposes. We have 24 hour staff providing a friendly and safe environment for yourself, your family and your belongings.

Withycombe is on the Constantia Wine Route offering wine tasting together with several quality restaurants such as Uitsig, Buitenverwachting and we are close to 6 first class Golf Courses. Also within easy reach are the other attractions of the Cape Peninsula ranging from safe bathing on the pristine beaches of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, diving, boating, sailing, horse riding, biking, penguin, shark and whale watching to mountain and forest walks, scenic drives and helicopter flights. Then there are also the historical homes, museums, a world class aquarium and of course the V & A Waterfront. The home offers a large guest lounge with French doors opening onto the salt-water pool patio. Here there is quiet, comfortable seating, and a fireplace. For the businessman the Library offers working space and facilities for fax and E-mail. An informal Bar , also opens onto the pool and outside entertainment area, where visitors can enjoy making a traditional South African "Braai" (BBQ). Further to the facilities around the north facing pool area there is a large thatched gazebo on the northwest side of the house. In total there is 250 square meters of paved outdoor entertainment area The breakfast room has French doors leading onto a sheltered patio and a cosy fireplace to warm winter mornings. Here a comprehensive English or Continental breakfast is served, comprising of fruit, yoghurt, a selection of cereals and breads with preserves, cheese and cold meat.

Zeranka Lodge is in close proximity to a range of tourist attractions and a great selection of restaurants and pubs. Umhlanga is known internationally as the holiday Mecca of KwaZulu Natal with magnificent beaches, game parks within easy reach by car. The beautiful Drakensberg, Zulu dancing and the Valley of 1000 Hills are all in close proximity to Umhlanga. Gateway Entertainment and Shopping Centre (2nd largest in the World and biggest in the Southern Hemisphere), with shops, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, IMAX, climbing wall, skate park, wave pool, putt putt, squash, aerobics and much more, just 5 minutes away. Game park safaris are within driving distance with the chance of spotting Africa's Big Five. There are numerous sporting facilities available in the area: play golf at one of the world's top 100 golf courses at the Durban Country Club, take a boat trip to see the dolphins catching the waves, maybe catch a view of the Hump Back Whale, deep sea diving off the Aliwal Shoal to view the numerous fish or take a trip to catch one of the numerous game fish off the coast. Durban being a holiday resort has numerous events at various times of the year and always has something different to offer the tourist.

Our tranquil setting ensures all enjoy the break! We try to provide the ideal setting where families and friends can breakaway from the concrete jungle and relax in a picturesque environment that provides something new everyday. Sitting around the boma fire at night listening to the night owls and the jackals is special, not to mention the fish-eagle cry from the river that dissects the property. The fauna and flora attracted us to Baobab and will surely rub-off on you! The owners have now also established an indigenous nursery on the property. We do not only cater for hunters but for breakaways as well. Whilst hunting is happening, the young ones can safely ride the quads/ bikes on the property across the road on the tracks and river area provided. Catering can also be provided by either a gourmet chef or a "boerekos" specialist for those who are really not in the mood to cook. Menus are available for perusal and selection of menus are made to complement ones taste. We do however require at least two weeks notice if catering is required. Although the Centre celebrated its tenth anniversary on 17 November 2000, the roots of the Centre can be traced back to 1890! Although the Centre previously hosted a number of other sporting codes, such as chess, rowing, triathlon and cycling, athletics, and in particular road running and walking, is the dominant sporting code. The clubhouse is a facility admired and appreciated by all members. It provides a spacious hall, fully licensed bar, kitchen and cloak rooms with showers for both sexes. A club secretary serves the needs of members from Monday to Thursday from 17:00 - 19:00. Facilities are available for rent to the public for workshops, meetings and functions.

Facilities include a large TV lounge, pool table, bar and large balcony overlooking Long Street with a vibrant nightlife and trendy restaurants, bars and lounges.
