Badger's Lodge is situated close to the Knysna Lagoon and about 3 km out of Knysna's enchanting town centre and the picturesque waterfront. We offer comfortable accommodation in African style Rondavels (thatched huts), chalets and cottages set in a large tranquil garden. A veranda and a sundeck with views over the lush valley and forest are the ideal places to spot abundant bird life, whilst the sparkling pool invites you to relax and soak up the warm African sun. All rooms are en-suite and are decorated in an African theme. Secure off street parking is available to our guests. There is also a garden timber cottage, which offers 2 self catering, semi-detached units. Each unit accommodates up to four people and consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom with shower to share for the bedrooms, kitchen, lounge and veranda with braai facilities. We provide linen and towels as well as a daily service. A chalet affords privacy and tranquility for two people - perfect for honeymooners. It has one bedroom, bathroom with shower and full bath, kitchen, lounge and veranda with braai and is also fully equipped for self-catering. Enjoy hearty English/ continental breakfasts served in the thatched dining room by the open fireplace or on the veranda. A private bar with TV (SABC only) is available for the guests. Knysna offers many outdoor activities and adventure. Laze at one of the unspoilt sandy beaches or head for some adventurous experiences in the forest such as hiking, biking, horse riding and quad biking. Try some water sports such as canoeing, tubing, waterskiing, diving, fishing or whale watching. We are only 20 minutes away from the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve and various exciting activities can be organized in the area. The Hluhluwe River Flood Plain is one of the only areas in the whole of South Africa where Yellow throated, Pink throated and Orange throated Long claw species can be seen together. The floodplain houses thousands of migrant water birds, as well as ducks, egrets etc. Three east coast endemic birds can be found in the area namely, Rudds Apalis, Pink throated Twin spot, Lemon breasted Canary. This is a major attraction not only for local birders, but for overseas birders who travel to destinations where there is a likelihood of seeing endemic species. Hluhluwe is also home to some very special birds like Green Coucal, Southern Banded Snake Eagle, Secretary bird, Black winged Plovers and Honey Bussard. Bonamanzi is stronghold for the rare African Broadbill. This little bird is easy to see at Bonamanzi, and is known to breed in the park. It is known in South Africa from only two other rather tenuous sites, and is only known to be present in good numbers in Bonamanzi, Mkuze, Ndumo, etc.

River Lodge Hotel Suites (x4): These suites have a spacious bedroom (3 of the suites with a double bed and the 4th with twin three-quarter beds), lounge area and full bathroom with romantic corner bath. They are situated right on the Komati River and your private veranda affords you great views of the gorge and river. Meals are available in the restaurant. Kingfisher House (sleeps 7) Lounge with fire place, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with bunk beds), 2 en-suite bathrooms and a guest loo. There is also a spacious veranda with great views of the gorge and trout dam. Additional features are DSTV, fireplace in lounge, private braai and a hammock.
