We offer luxury accommodation and various activities on the 700 hectares, within easy reach of Sun City, Royal Bafokeng Stadium (Stadium for the Soccer World Cup 2010) and the Pilansberg Nature Reserve. The roads have been upgraded in the run-up to the World Cup which makes getting around effortless and safe.

There are 5 architect designed, rustic chalets where each piece of furniture, chair, table, cupboard, light-fitting, etc has been hand-made by the local community. The chalets are named after indigenous plants and trees, and each offers privacy, tranquillity and magnificent views. Each chalet offers a private splash pool, DSTV, spacious covered entertainment deck & stunning views overlooking the Garden of Eden. Abundant bird life, magnificent, indigenous trees and fynbos, Bushbuck, and even the occasional baboon troupe, live in the forest, and there are wonderful trails to enjoy - with guide if you so wish.

We offer 3 very comfortable, spacious guest cottages, tastefully decorated in 'home from home' self-catering accommodation, with a high standard of cleanliness and care taken. Each cottage is built with face brick, large sliding doors and windows, privately situated one from the other, amidst the natural bush. Each is surrounded with spectacular views. Rosemary Cottage (2 sleeper) A 1-bedroom cottage with queen bed and heater in the room. The bathroom consists of a bath and shower with separate toilet. Quality towels and linen are supplied. The living area has a lounge with comfortable suite and an open log fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped with a small fridge, stove, microwave and breakfast nook. Outdoor furniture and a Braai/BBQ facility are provided on the veranda. Geranium Cottage (2-4 sleeper) A 1-bedroom cottage with queen bed and heater in the room. The bathroom consists of a Jacuzzi bath and shower with separate toilet. Quality towels and linen are supplied. The living area has a lounge with a comfortable suite, a double pullout couch and an open log fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped with a small fridge, stove, microwave and dining table. Each room has a ceiling fan. Outdoor furniture and a Braai/BBQ facility are provided on the veranda. Lavender Cottage (4-6 sleeper) A 2-bedroom cottage with queen bed in the main bedroom and en-suite bathroom with bath/ hand shower and toilet. The second bedroom consists of twin beds plus adjoining bathroom with shower and toilet. Quality towels and linen are supplied. Accommodation at Halstead is in a separate cottage from the manor house with 3 en-suite bedrooms all individually decorated in the typically colonial style. All of our bathrooms are complete with bath and separate showers. Each room contains a fan, mini bar, table and chairs. Room one boasts a piano. All rooms lead onto a wide decorated veranda overlooking a private garden. The cottage has a separate driveway and entrance to the manor house which assists guest to come a go at will. All guests have access to enjoy our swimming pool set in an enclosed courtyard. Each morning a full cooked breakfast is served between 07h45 and 10h00. A continental breakfast with cheeses is set out simultaneously on the buffet. Carmen, Miriam and Maria are on hand to look after your needs. We offer limited laundry and baby sitting facilities. Halstead Farm is centrally positioned to explore the Sundays River Valley and the Addo Elephant National Park. The Sundays River Valley is typical of many farming communities with various farm stalls, polo club, library, etc. The 'Lookout' burial site of Sir Percy Fitzpatrick has the most wonderful viewing platform built over 50 years ago from where an elevated perspective of the whole expanse of the valley can be gained.

The historic homestead, built in 1915, has been lovingly restored to its former splendour by the owners, Cor and Dineke Ehlers. Modern venues can never compete with the atmosphere created by Poplar Grove's lofty dimensions, pressed-steel ceilings, Oregon pine floors, grand fireplaces and its rose, herb and vegetable gardens. The original 19th century homestead, built of local stone and yellowwood beams brought from the Eastern Cape in the 1870s, has survived the Anglo-Boer war and is now also being restored.
